
Mountain View’s McKinlee Covolo Signs at Northwest College for Hoops
Mountain View senior McKinlee Covolo will continue her basketball career at the next level. She committed to Northwest College in Powell. Covolo was a three-time all-state and all-conference performer for the Buffalos. She was a three-year starter and four-year letter-winner at MVHS. Covolo was named the SW Senior Student Athlete of the Year for 3A/4A Girls. She was also a finalist for the Bob Carey Award.
Covolo holds school records for single-season and career rebounds, single-season rebound average, and career points at Mountain View. McKinlee grabbed 319 total rebounds in the 2024-25 season and an average of 12.8 rebounds per game. Both are new school marks. She finished with 940 career rebounds and 1,254 points.
Last season, Covolo averaged 16.4 points and shot 55 percent from the field. She led the Buffalos to an overall record of 17-8 and a 6-4 mark in the 3A West Conference. Covolo led the state in rebounding at 12.8 per game. She was fourth in field goal percentage in Wyoming and sixth in Class 3A in scoring. McKinlee added 1.7 steals and 2.2 blocks per game, which was sixth-best in the state.
As a junior in the 2023-24 season, Covolo averaged 15.5 points and 11.8 rebounds per game. She led MVHS to a 21-7 record. She contributed 14.3 points and 9.8 rebounds per game as a sophomore for a squad that finished 22-7.
Covolo helped the Buffalos to three Class 3A basketball state tournament appearances.

McKinlee also played volleyball and was a thrower in track and field at MVHS. She earned all-state honors in volleyball during the 2024 season.
Northwest College is in Powell, WY. The Trappers compete in Region IX at the NJCAA Division I level. They went 17-14 in the 2024-25 season, the first under former Douglas head coach Cody Helenbolt.
