Bieber Steps Down as Green River Boys Soccer Coach

The Green River Boys’ soccer program has experienced a change at the top less than a month before the start of the 2020 high school season.

On Friday, Green River Athletic Director Tony Beardsley announced the resignation of head boys’ soccer coach Chris Bieber. He was the Wolves' head coach the past seven seasons and has been with the team for the past 13 years.

The reason Bieber has stepped down was due to ‘a change with his work schedule that would limit his ability to put in the required time it takes to continue as head coach.’

Bieber is being replaced by Kahler Dawson. He will stay on as a volunteer assistant and help transition the program.

Beardsley said, “Coach Bieber has been an outstanding coach and leader for our Green River High School Boys Soccer program. His leadership will be missed. I want to thank Chris for all of his contributions to our program.”

Bieber was a three-time 4A West Conference Coach of the Year. The qualified for and played in the 4A State Tournament 12 of Bieber’s 13 years. Their best finish was third place in 2018. The release mentioned that Bieber had coach several All-Conference and All-State players including 2018 Gatorade Wyoming Boys Soccer Player of the Year, Patrick Marchal.
