Photofest: Big Piney Continues Winning Ways Beating Wind River
In a re-match of last year's 1A 9-Man state championship football game, Big Piney once again defeated Wind River with Punchers dominating the Cougars last week 47-8. Big Piney won their first state title since 2006 last season and they have an all-star running back who could lead them to the promised land again.
Caden Clifford ran wild for Big Piney in the Wind River game with 255 yards rushing on 25 carries with 3 touchdowns. So far this season, he has rushed for 236 yards against Greybull and 220 vs. Wyoming Indian. Clifford is the leading rusher in 9-man football with 964 yards on the ground and 15 touchdowns. He averages 192 all-purpose yards per game and also makes 8 tackles a game on defense.
Big Piney is 4-1 and will be at Rich County, Utah in Randolph this week. Wind River, who reached the 1A 9-Man title game last season has endured a rough season with 1 win and 5 losses. They have a Saturday matinee game on the road vs. Greybull. Chrissy Sanchez has shared some photos of the BP-WR game and those images can be located in our gallery below. Enjoy!
