Several teams competed at the Buffalo Invitational Cross Country Meet at the TA Guest Ranch on Friday. On the ladies' side, Powell took 1st with 57 points, Buffalo 2nd with 63,  and Kelly Walsh 3rd with 63. Individually, Kinley Cooley of Powell finished 1st with a time of 19.71.1 with Big Horn freshman Lyla Marney 2nd in 20.01.0 and Buffalo's Maya Hall 3rd with a time of 20.06.

Cooley took 13th at last year's 3A State Cross Country Meet and was sharp at the 2023 3A State Outdoor Track Meet taking 3rd in the 3200, 5th in the 1600, and 6th in the 800 meters. She also was 2nd in the 3A, 3200 meters at the 2024 State Indoor Track meet and 4th in the 1600. Marney is off to a great start this season as she placed 2nd at the big Wyoming Invitational in Cheyenne and Maya Hall was a 3rd place finisher at last season's 3A Cross Country meet.

For the guys, Buffalo won their own meet with 52 points with Sheridan 2nd with 58 and Kelly Walsh came in 3rd with 61. Worland's Trajn Swalstad made it 2 for 2 this season as he was the individual winner in Buffalo in 15.59.4. Zach Friese of Buffalo was 2nd in 16.21.8 and Kelly Walsh's Micah Colling took 3rd with a time of 16.40.8.

Swalstad won the Cheyenne Meet back in August and took 2nd at the 3A State Meet in 2023. Plus, he won the 3A 1600 and 3200 at the State Outdoor Track Meet. Friese placed 7th at the 3A Cross Country meet last year and Colling was 9th at the 4A State Meet.
