Campbell County distance runner Braik Hurm will be taking his skills eastbound on I-90 over to Spearfish, South Dakota to compete for Black Hills State University. Hurm has made exponential progress in cross country over the last 3 seasons with a 5th place finish in 2021 in 16.36.67 He placed 46th at the 2020 4A state cross country meet and 66th in 2019.

In the Casper indoor track meet over the weekend, Hurm placed 3rd in the 1600 meters with a time of 4.41.46 and he took 6th in the 800 in 2.07.81. At the 2021 state indoor championships, he placed 5th in 1600. At the 2021 4A outdoor state championships in Casper. Hurm was 7th in the 3200 with a clocking of 10.11.42 along with a 16th place finish in the 1600 meters.

Black Hills State is a Division II school that competes in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
