Eight games have been played at the 2023 Wyoming American Legion Baseball AA State Tournament in Jackson.

After opening-round wins by Casper, Sheridan, the Cheyenne Sixers, and Jackson on Monday, the field was cut to six on Tuesday.

The Casper Oilers knocked off the top-seed Sheridan Troopers in eight innings in the first winner's bracket game on Tuesday. The final score was 3-2. Cobey Pexton had an infield bunt single that led to the winning run after a throw was mishandled. Thomas Stokes threw all 8 innings and 109 pitches to get the victory on the mound.

WyoPreps caught up with both players after the thrilling win.

In the nightcap, the Cheyenne Sixers rallied to beat the Jackson Giants on their home field, 8-2. Jackson jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but Cheyenne responded with 5 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning to take the lead and never looked back. That big inning was highlighted by Hayden Swaen's 3-run home run. It was his second home run of the tournament. Bradley Feezer came on in relief for the win and was perfect over 3.1 innings pitched with 5 strikeouts.

We visited with Swaen after the victory.

Also on Tuesday, the Laramie Rangers eliminated Rock Springs with a 6-3 win, and the Gillette Riders knocked out the Cheyenne Hawks, 5-1.
