Cheyenne Central athlete Averie Perriton really opened some eyes as she finished 4th at the 4A State Cross Country Meet in October. Central won the team championship in 4A and Perriton covered the course in 19.28.10. She will be headed to Utah Tech  (the former Dixie State) to run cross country and compete in track and field.

So far this season in track, Perriton finished 12th in the 800-meter run at the Altitude Invite in Colorado and 3rd in the high jump at 4-9. She also competed at the Runner's Roost Meet in Fort Collins with a 4th place finish in the 3200 and 11th in the jump at 4-8. That meet featured 30 schools.

As a junior at the State Indoor Meet in Gillette, she was 8th in the high jump and her 4x400 meter relay team took 12th,

Utah Tech is located in St. George and competes at the Division I level for the Western Athletic Conference.
