Cheyenne Sixers Season Ends in Heartbreak [VIDEOS]
The 'AA' Northwest Regional Championship day provided baseball fans with two excellent games.
Two-time defending national champion Idaho Falls faced the Cheyenne Sixers at Hladky Stadium in Gillette, WY. Cheyenne faced the difficult challenge of having to beat the Bandits twice on the same day in order to advance to the American Legion World Series.
Cheyenne completed step one with a 9-4 victory in the first title game.
That meant the Regional crown would be decided in a winner-take-all second championship game. It went extra innings, and Idaho Falls prevailed 6-5, in nine innings, to keep their hopes of a three-peat alive.
