Defending 3A football state champion Cody has been mowing down the competition this year and put on another impressive performance on Friday with a 54-7 road win over Jackson. These two teams met in the 2021 3A championship game in Laramie so they know each other very well. Cody's offense went right to work in the first quarter on Friday in Teton County as Matt Nelson had a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown.

Quarterback Luke Talich later threw a TD pass to Trey Thomasson and that was the first of 3 scores for Thomasson who also found the end zone on a 6-yard run. He continued his spectacular night with a 35-yard TD catch to give Cody a 33-point lead. Nelson ended up with another touchdown catch in the 2nd half. So Talich ended up with 4 TD passes and picked up a score on defense on a fumble recovery.

Cody is 4-0 and will host Green River on Friday. Even though it was a tough night for Jackson, there's a long way to go in the season. The Broncs will be at home this week to take on Evanston.
