Lyman Eagles Football 2026 Season Preview by WyoPreps [VIDEO]

It's been a tough couple of years for the Lyman Eagles on the gridiron. They would love nothing more than to return to the form of the early 2020s during this new high school football season. After back-to-back titles in 2020 and 2021, and then two straight semifinal appearances, the Eagles have fallen on tough times. WyoPreps visited Lyman to get a glimpse of the 2026 team in our Preseason Football Tour.

WYOPREPS PREVIEWS THE 2026 LYMAN EAGLES

Lyman has posted back-to-back seasons with a 2-7 overall record. They lost their only all-state player to graduation. With a good core returning in 2026, the Eagles want to take a step forward in the competitive 2A West Conference. Senior Cal France led Lyman with 455 all-purpose yards last fall. He scored two rushing touchdowns. France also led the Eagles on defense with 44 tackles and 81 defensive points. He finished with 3 tackles for loss, one sack, and one fumble recovery. Another key contributor returning is Jevin Maxfield. He ran for 184 yards and one TD. Lyman also brings back Dallin Bradshaw, Gage Bradshaw, and Hugh Willie.

WyoPreps spoke with France and Maxfield about the Eagles' preparations for a new season. They discussed how practice has gone, the high energy and fun they're having so far, how their experience will be beneficial, and more. Head coach Dale Anderson enters his 15th season at the helm. He's guided Lyman to three titles and a playoff berth in 10 of his first 14 seasons. He said they've got to execute and work hard, but he likes the senior class's experience.

Lyman heads to a scrimmage in Lander this week. Their season begins on Friday, September 4, at home versus Soda Springs, Idaho. WyoPreps was at a recent practice. We have a few pictures from that practice below. We hope you enjoy them.
