It's been an unusual journey for Cody sprinter Jazlyn Waltari. Due to foot surgery, she missed the 2021 indoor and outdoor track seasons in addition to the 2020 State Outdoor Track Meet that was canceled due to the pandemic. But still has enough upside to earn a college opportunity. Waltari has signed with Montana Tech in Butte for track and the school just recently added track to its sports portfolio.

Back in 2019 as a freshman, Waltari qualified for the 4A State Meet (outdoors) in the 200-meter dash but did not qualify for the finals. She was also on Cody's 4x100 meter relay team that placed 9th at state.

Waltari competed in the 2020 State Indoor Meet in Gillette and was 41st in the 55-meter dash and 40th in the 200. Her 4x200 meter relay placed 10th at the state meet in 2020. In that season, she won the regular season Gillette meet in the 200.

Montana Tech is an NAIA school that plays in the Frontier Conference.
