If it wasn't for the pandemic that canceled the 2020 3A Girls State Tournament, Douglas in all likelihood would have been celebrating their 5th consecutive state title. The Bearcats will have to settle for 4 championships in the last 5 years following a 45-37 win over Lyman on Saturday at the Ford Center in Casper.

Douglas has been paced all year long by senior Allison Olsen and freshman Lauren Olsen and those two combined for 29 points in this win over the Eagles. Allison went 7-8 from the free-throw line as Douglas as a team went 10-13 from the charity stripe. Brooke Wright was also in double-figures for the Cats with 10 points. Douglas won 25 of 28 games this season.

This is the 2nd straight year that Lyman has lost to Douglas in the 3A title game. The Eagles were led by Brice Hansen with 15 which included a trio of 3-pointers. Caroline Bradshaw added 9 as they finished the campaign at 24-4.

Be sure and check out our video of the championship game from the Ford Center on Friday and a few photos too.
