Defending 3a state champion Star Valley has looked great all year long and finished the regular season with a bang, thanks to a huge win over Evanston on Friday afternoon. The Braves started out strong in the first quarter thanks to a TD catch from Chase Merrill on a play that covered 27 yards. Then running back R.J. Cazier went to work as he had 2 rushing touchdowns, from 15 yards and 6 yards out so Star Valley led 21-0.

In the 2nd quarter, Star Valley quarterback Brant Nelson found Dean Shaw for 39 yards and TD.  Then Chase Merrill caught his 2nd touchdown ball of the game which was followed by a 1-yard plunge to the end zone from Trent Clark.  Cazier chipped in another 6 yard run to the end zone so, at halftime, the Braves led the Red Devils 49-0

R.J. Cazier wrapped up a solid day for Star Valley with a 74 yard run for a touchdown and James Erickson came through with a 20-yard pick 6. The Braves turned off the jets in the 4th quarter and cruised to a 63-0 win over Evanston.

The Braves at 9-0 will be the #1 seed from the west in 3A and will host Douglas on Friday afternoon. Evanston finished the year at 0-8
