The results are in from WyoPreps’ just for fun, fan-voted 3A/4A state basketball tournaments. The fans have chosen their four winners.

WyoPreps conducted polls last week to see what fans were thinking might have happened at the state tournament had it not been canceled due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. It was, and so WyoPreps was just curious.

The four winners were Lander in 3A girls, Thunder Basin in 4A girls, Worland in 3A boys, and Cheyenne East in 4A boys.

The 3A girls’ poll came down to 17 votes and just over a half-percent. 4A girls were separated by less than 100 votes and just over two percent in the voting. The 3A boys’ voting was decided by nearly 140 votes with a margin of about three percent. The biggest gap came in 4A boys, where the margin was 600 votes and a difference of just over 22 percent in the voting.

Mountain View, Big Piney, Cheyenne East, and Thunder Basin were voted as third-place winners. The consolation votes went to Rawlins, Kelly Walsh, Buffalo, and Campbell County, respectively.

WyoPreps is not crowning any champions, nor are there trophies or medals. This was strictly done for fun.

Unfortunately, we’ll never know the true outcome because of the cancellation three weeks ago.

For those who chose to participate, thank you. If you didn’t, that’s okay, too.

WyoPreps hopes everyone is staying safe and healthy is these tough times.
