The time has come for players and teams to determine which is #1, because the coaches and media rankings no longer matter.

In the final 4A rankings of the season, the top 3 are the same as they've been for the past several weeks. Gillette is ranked #1...although this time they are unanimous...Sheridan is #2 and Rock Springs is #3. Those 3 rankings are reflective of the top 3 seeds in the playoffs. Kelly Walsh finally gets some love some the voters. The Trojans have won 5 of their last 6, after an 0-3 start. For the first time in 10 years, KW has a first round home playoff game...and just like 10 years ago, they get to host #5 Natrona.

The voters were mostly decided on which teams are the top 5 in 3A, because only 5 teams got votes. It's still Star Valley, Douglas and Green River at #1, #2, and #3. Powell and Torrington reverse spots again, and the Panthers reclaim the #4 spot...along with the west #1 seed after the coin flips. #5 Torrington gets their big awaited rematch with GR this weekend. SV needs to keep an eye on unkranked Riverton and their high octane offense. This will be a game featuring the top overall offense in the state vs. the top rush defense in the state.

There's no change in the top 4 ranked 2A teams. It's Glenrock, Big Horn, Mountain View and Greybull in that order. Pinedale is back in at #5, after a 1 week absence, and visit BH in the first round. Glenrock vs. Lyman could be an interesting game as well, because it's the second time in 3 weeks that the 2 teams play each other. Greybull hosts unranked Wheatland, almost one year after the 2 teams hooked up in last year's semi-finals.

The top 3 teams in 1A continue to be from the East. Upton-Sundance is the unanimous #1, followed by Tongue River and Pine Bluffs. Rocky Mountain is up to #4, and despite the loss, Shoshoni stays in the top 5, by 1 vote over Cokeville. The Panthers make their second trip to TR this season, and won back in week 3. PB has just as long of a road trip, going all the way to RM. This could be a very low scoring game, because it features the top 2 overall defenses in the state. If you remember last year, the East swept the West in the first round...and just like last year...Southeast is the 4 seed in the East, and Shoshoni is the top seed in the West. Plus the Cyclones beat the Wranglers earlier this season.

The top 2 teams in 6-man are the only 2 undefeated teams remaining. Farson-Eden was able to hang onto the #1 spot, after hanging on for a win last week. #2 Kaycee will have their hands full hosting Burlington who is also ranked, despite being the #4 seed in the West. #3 Little Snake River will have a tough task as well visiting an unranked Guernsey-Sunrise team that maybe looking for some respect. Meeteetse benefited the most from the 3-way coin flip and ended up getting a home game in the first round.
