The 14th annual Wyoming versus Nebraska 6-Man Shootout all-star football game is on Friday in Chadron, NE. The kick-off is at 7 p.m. The Battle for the Border all-star football game features graduated seniors from 6-man football programs in both states, who were selected to play in the game earlier this year. Wyoming is trying to snap a two-game skid in the series after a 48-14 loss last year and a 52-16 setback to Nebraska in 2023. The series record has Nebraska in front at 7-6. The Cornhusker State has won four of the last five.

WYOPREPS PREVIEW OF THE WYOMING-NEBRASKA 6-MAN SHOOTOUT

WyoPreps caught up with Team Wyoming Head Coach Jack Cobb to preview the upcoming game. He discussed how the coaching staff selected players for Team Wyoming, considering how there are more teams in Nebraska, how preparation does not change too much, how this game depends on a team’s talent and its buy-in during preparation, and more.

The team met in Casper on Tuesday and held a light workout. They went to Chadron on Wednesday and tried to squeeze in a practice. Thursday was a busy day of practice. Gameday Friday has a walk-through and the game itself at 7 p.m.

Wyoming has 18 players from seven of the 6-man teams in the state. Jack Cobb from Little Snake River is serving as the head coach for Wyoming. His assistants are Sam Weeldreyer from LSR, Burlington’s Trent Aagard, and Encampment’s Kegan Willford.
