High school football teams the Cowboy State completed six weeks of the 2024 season last weekend. Teams have played between five and seven, depending on their schedule and other circumstances. We have seen terrific performances on the gridiron and want to highlight them. These are the Peak Performers across five statistical categories. We added team totals in a few areas, plus the top-scoring games by teams.

Over the past two weeks, we’ve seen two huge rushing performances by Quincy Paris of Midwest and Bridger Cozzens from Little Snake River. Paris ran for 383 yards and 6 TDs on Oct. 5. That was a day after Cozzens went for 312 and 6 TDs. Caden Clifford rushed for 255 yards and 3 TDs last weekend. Hulett’s Kyle Smith threw for 519 yards and 11 TDs in a 6-man game on Oct. 5. His teammate Hudson Reilly was the big beneficiary. Reilly made 16 catches for 321 yards and 6 TDs. Smith McClure of Star Valley passed for 384 yards and 4 TDs on Oct. 4. That was the same game that Bryson Nield broke the 11-man single-game receiving record with 291 yards on 18 catches (1 off the state record). Smith from Hulett and Paris from Midwest produced the top two all-purpose performances. Smith had 638 total yards, while Paris mustered 576 yards.

Team-wise, Little Snake River rushed for 547 yards in their win at Dubois. Hulett and Star Valley posed the top two passing yards with 538 and 400, respectively. The Red Devils finished with a total of 799 all-purpose yards at Midwest on Oct. 5. Star Valley rolled up 692 yards against Cody last Friday. Midwest’s 94 points in that wild game with Hulett are the most points scored by one team this year.
