The third stop on the WyoPreps Preseason Football Tour in 2025 was to visit the Dubois Rams. Coming off a fourth consecutive semifinal playoff appearance last year, Dubois aims to keep the momentum going despite the loss of some key personnel. The Rams went 5-4 in the 2024 season. They finished third after a 3-2 mark in conference games. After a first-round playoff victory at Riverside, Dubois lost in the semis to the eventual six-man state champions, Little Snake River.

WYOPREPS PREVIEWS THE 2025 DUBOIS RAMS

The Rams return three starters on each side of the ball. That includes senior all-conference performer Dylan Wagner and fellow senior Zander Hawkins. Dubois had a potent ground attack last year at 298 rushing yards per game. That was good for No. 2 in the Class 1A 6-man division. The Rams averaged 369 yards and 44.8 points per game. Much of that productivity is gone after the graduation of some seniors and a player who moved away. Defensively, Dubois gave up nearly 280 yards per game on the ground. They were No. 5 in total defense at 374 yards per game and allowed 40.1 points per game. Wagner finished No. 29 in the division in defensive points per game at 14.4. He made 74 tackles last season. Hawkins added 40 tackles, three pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and two blocked kicks. On the flip side, Hawkins and Wagner combined for two total TDs, one each.

WyoPreps stopped by the Rams’ practice at their old field. We visited with Wagner and Hawkins about how things are going early in practice, trying to replace various lost players, some keys to their season, some fun items, and more.

Head Coach Dan O’Brien begins his second year at the helm, and he admitted there are some challenges ahead, but he likes the team’s versatility and the numbers they have. He also discussed what they’re focusing on to get ready for the season and more.

Dubois opens the 2025 season at Riverside on Friday, Aug. 29.
