The Lovell Bulldogs have been at or near the top of Class 2A football for several years, and they’d like to climb to the top of the ladder once again. With a good nucleus returning, Lovell should be a title contender in 2024 behind all-state quarterback Davin Crosby and all-conference performer Braxton Felkins.

Lovell was 6-3 last year. They tied for second in the 2A West Conference at 4-2 and lost a three-way tiebreaker in playoff seeding. The Bulldogs lost in the first round at Big Horn 49-28. Lovell was the top passing team in 2A, thanks to Crosby. Davin threw for 215 yards per game and helped the Bulldogs have the No. 2 total offense at 360 yards and 32.4 points per game. They still ran it for 146 per game. Defensively, Lovell struggled against the run and allowed 203 yards per game, which was 11th in the division. They gave up 289 total yards and 21.1 points per game. Those are marks they would like to improve. Felkins will play a key role, as he was No. 8 in Class 2A in defensive points per game last year and finished the 2023 season with 99 total tackles.
