Lander junior Gage Gose had a sensational year in the hurdle events and came away with 2 gold medals at the 3A State Outdoor Meet last month in Casper. For most of the season, Gose had the best time in the state in the 300 and ran 38.69 in the state finals for the win. He ran 14.81 in the 110 to win by a sizable margin and took 3rd in both of the hurdle events at the 2021 3A State Meet. The guy is fast and fluid over the hurdles and if he runs a clean race, he's hard to beat.

His father Ben is the head track coach at Lander and he had an all-star track career with Riverton in the late 1980s. At the 1987 State Track Meet, Ben Gose won 4 events, the 100-meter dash, the 200, the 400, and repeated as the 4A state champion in the 800. You don't see that kind of effort every day and his son is trying to follow in those footsteps.
