The indoor track season moved along over the weekend with Gillette hosting meet #6 on Saturday at the Rec Center. Sheridan pole vaulter Ryan Karajanis commanded a lot of attention as he cleared 15 feet even to win that event. Grace Shaffer of Cody was the girls' pole vault winner at 12-6.75 and the Fillies placed 1-5 in that event.

On the boy's side individually, defending 3A state cross country champion Peter Visser of Star Valley took first in the 800 in 1.58.49. He was the only guy in the field to run under 2 minutes in that event. Kyle Meineke of Sheridan was a two-event winner; taking the 55-meter hurdles in 8.13 and also winning the triple jump with a leap of 39-8.5.

Sheridan's Carter McComb won the 55-meter dash in 6.66 and backed that up with a victory in the 200-meter dash in 22.98. Will Huckeba of Big Horn won the 400 in 53.47 while Sheridan's Reese Charest took the 1600 meter run in 4.40.92. Campbell County's Braik Hurm won the 3200-meter race on 10.35.67.

Campbell County won the 4x200 meter relay, with Star Valley winning the 4x800 and the 1600 medley. Sheridan took the tape in the 4x400. In the rest of the field events, Gabe Klinger of Star Valley cleared 5-9 to win the high jump. Remar Pitter of Campbell County won the long jump at 21-4 and the shot put winner was Lindsey Quinn of Lovell with a toss of 56-3.25. In the team standings for the boys, Sheridan took first with 215 points, Campbell County 2nd with 103 and, Star Valley 3rd with 77.

For the girls on the track, Sydalee Brown of Campbell County won the 55-meter dash in 7.42 and also won the triple jump with a leap of 35-4.25. The 200-meter dash winner was Aja Roberts from Campbell County in 27.28 with Jenna Hillman of Lovell taking the 400 in 1.02.88

In the distance races, Abby Newton of Sheridan won the 800 and the 1600 meter runs. Her time in the 800 was 2.27.77 and turned in a clocking of  5.29.35 in the 1600 run. Dana Weatherby from Sheridan captured the 3200 in 12.55.68. In the 55 meter hurdles, Carly Norman of Buffalo won that event in 8.96. Campbell County won the 4x200 and 4x400 meter relays with Sheridan winning the 4x800

In the rest of the ladies' field events, Preslee Moser of Sheridan went 9-2 to win the high jump. Campbell County's Nyomi Moore continued her outstanding season, going 17-4.75 to win the long jump and Lauryn Love of Campbell County continues to dominate the shot put with a toss of 44-1.

In the girl's team standings, Sheridan placed first with 180.75 points with Campbell County 2nd with 156 and Cody 3rd with 86. The boy's state meet will be this Saturday in Gillette and the girl's state meet will be the following Saturday, also in Gillette.
