Green River Girls Basketball Wrap [VIDEO]

Green River had a trio of players this season that averaged in double figures. Kayde Strauss and Madelyn Heiser each threw in 11 per game for the Wolves while Ashlynn Bitch had 10 per game. Heiser earned all-state status as a junior so the future is bright considering that Birch will be a senior next season and Strauss will be a junior. Green River began state tournament play with a 65-49 loss to Thunder Basin as Birch had 11 to lead the way.  The Wolves were just 2-13 from the 3 point line in that game. In the consolation round, Green River carved out a 49-40 win over Cheyenne Central as Heiser had 19 points and Strauss added 10. The Wolves wrapped up the season with a 44-36 win over Rock Springs. Birch was solid with 19 points and Strauss chipped in 16. This was a team that had just 2 seniors so there is a lot to build on for 2019-20.
