Kemmerer won their first state championship in 2A wrestling in 2022 and backed that up with another state title in 2023. The Rangers had three individual champions, Roany Proffit at 126 pounds, Karl Haslem at 132, and Riggen Walker. Proffit and Walker are back-to-back champions and Haslem won his 3rd.

Haslem defeated Colton Coffman of Lusk by fall to win the state title and pinned his way to the top of the podium. He finished the season with a record of 41-14. In 2022, he went 36-8 en route to the 2A championship at 120 pounds but had to climb the ladder as an underclassman.

In his freshman year. Haslam finished 5th at 106, losing to Coffman in the semi-final round. His record that season was 21-12. In his sophomore season, he won his 1st state title at 106 with a victory over Josiah Stockwell of Saratoga to wrap up the season with a record of 32-5.

We had a chance to chat with this 3-peat champion and he stuck to his game plan.
