Cody Sweeps Lovell in Hardwood Action

The basketball season has resumed after the holiday break and back on Friday, Cody played host to Lovell in an interclass match-up. The Cody girls are the defending 4A state champions and went 25-0 in the process. The Fillies dominated Lovell 64-31 thanks to 19 points from Molly Hays to 6-1 on the year. Hays has signed on with Idaho State and she has been averaging 22 points per game and that's leads 4A. Lovell is 5-4 on the year and they have a balanced line-up with Summer Teter averaging 9 points per game with Libby Mickelson and Kennadee Owens averaging 8 apiece.

In the boy's game on Friday, Cody handed Lovell just their 2nd loss of the year 54-38. with Jace Jarrett leading the Broncs with 10. Cody is 3-4 on the year and placed 3rd at last year's 4A State Tournament. Jarrett has been averaging 10 a game and Chase Hatch has been throwing in a dozen per contest. Lovell is 7-2 and they're looking for their first winning season since 2018. Owen Walker has been pacing the Bulldogs averaging 12 a game and Parker Anderson is averaging 10.
