Morgan Ekwall of Southeast to Throw for Chadron State

2A state champion shot put athlete Morgan Ekwall has signed with Chadron State in Nebraska for track & field. Ekwall won the 2A state title in the shot in 2019 with a toss of 39 feet 1 and a half inches. That effort earned her all-state distinction. She took 9th in the discus at the state meet, going 90 feet 9 inches.

As a sophomore in 2018, Ekwall finished 4th in the shot put at the state meet with a throw of 35 feet 10 and a half inches. She is a talented all-around athlete who was named all-state in volleyball for Southeast and was also an all-conference basketball player.
