One of the finest all-around athletes in the state is Ashton Schofield from Mountain View. He's a three-sport athlete and had a tremendous track meet in Riverton over the weekend, winning three events. Schofield won the 100-meter dash in 11.23 and as soon as he was done with that race, he went over to the high jump pit and leaped 6-5 to win that event. That 6-5 mark by the way is the best in the state this season. He capped the meet with a victory in the 200 meters with a time of 23.25.

Schofield is also a two-time all-state football player for the Buffs and caught 51 balls for 861 yards with 10 touchdowns this past season. His Mountain View squad won the 2A football championship his junior year.

We caught up with this talented young man, right after winning the 100 meters in Riverton and beating a very, very competitive field in the process.
