New WyoPreps Coaches and Media Softball Rankings Don’t Change Much
There are only two subtle changes in the second-ever WyoPreps.com Coaches and Media Softball Poll announced on Wednesday.
From last week’s first poll to this one, the differences among the top five are no tie for fifth, and only one team picked up votes for the top spot in these rankings.
Thunder Basin is a unanimous choice for No. 1. The Bolts received all 14 of the first-place votes. They are 7-1 on the season and 5-0 in the East Division. The Kelly Walsh Trojans lead the West Division with a 4-0 overall mark and 3-0 in conference games. KW remains second. They are followed by Campbell County and Cody, who are third and fourth, respectively. Cheyenne East is alone at No. 5. The tie with their cross-town rival, Cheyenne Central, was broken thanks to a couple of third-place votes for the Thunderbirds.

A big game looms on Friday with top-ranked Thunder Basin facing No. 3 Campbell County. Both of those teams also play at Wheatland, plus Cheyenne East has a road game at Laramie on Saturday. Cody and Kelly Walsh are at home this week.
