Defending 4A football champion Sheridan has mowed over the competition lately with 6 straight lop-sided wins. The Broncs rang up 62 points in the first half and drilled Thunder Basin in the semi-final round of the playoffs 62-7.

In the first quarter, Dom Berrettini had a 16-yard run for a touchdown, Dane Steel followed that up with a 23 gallop to the end zone and Terran Grooms zoomed 49 yards for a TD so Sheridan led by 21 after one-quarter of play.

The Broncs put the pedal to the metal in the 2nd quarter as Berrettini tossed a 43-yard touchdown pass to Karsen Chase and Berrettini continued his great game with a 66-yard TD run and a 7-yard TD run. Breck Reed had a pick-six that covered 29 yards, Nahir Aguirre scored in a 20-yard run and Garrett Way had a 29-yard run to the house. It was an eventful 2nd quarter for Sheridan to say the least.

Thunder Basin's lone touchdown came in the 4th quarter on a 5-yard run from Wyatt Black but the Bolts wrap up the season with a record of 7-4. Sheridan is 11-0 and will face 10-1 Cheyenne East in the 4A championship on Saturday at 4 p.m. at War Memorial Stadium. This is a rematch of last year's title game, won by Sheridan.
