Photofest: Tongue River Starts 2A Play Shutting Out Thermopolis
It was week 1 for the 2A football season and Tongue River has high hopes for the 2023 season. The Eagles qualified for the playoffs for the first time in 6 years in 2022 and went 8-2 in the process. The program has a very good chance of making the next big step forward thanks to some solid returning talent.
Colter Hanft and Caleb Kirkbride are returning all-state players while Alex Barker and Conner Cummins were all-conference last season. All four of those players are totally functional on offense and defense. The Eagles are off to a good thanks to a 24-0 home win over Thermopolis last week. The Bobcats went 2-6 a year ago and they're looking for traction on offense heading into this week's game at home vs. Kemmerer. Tongue River hits the road for Glenrock on Friday.
We have some superlative photos of the Tongue River Thermopolis game courtesy of Susan Bullard and they can be found in our gallery below.
