In the southeast part of the state, it was an interclass battle between 2A Burns and 1A Pine Bluffs. The Burns defense made a big play right away as they recovered a Pine Bluffs fumble in the end zone to make it 6-0. That play was made by Tanner Wilson Then Kaden Lakin took matters into his own hands with a 28 yard run to the end zone to increase the lead to 12.

Things were getting busy for Lakin in the 2ndquarter as he threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Logan Lerwick. And followed that with a 3 yard run for a score, plus a 9 yard run for a TD. In between that, Pine Bluffs got a 34-yard field from Marvin Reza but Burns held a 33-3 lead at halftime.

In the 3rd quarter, the Broncs recovered yet another fumble and took it to the house and that was from Tanner Wilson. and Lakin ran for his 4th touchdown of the game. In terms of the Burns ground attack, Lakin ran for 125 and Bow Clayson ran for 20. The Broncs are 4-2 after a 48-3 win over Pine Bluffs. The Broncs will meet Newcastle on the road this week. Pine Bluffs is 1-5 so far this season and the Hornets will be at home on Friday to take on Upton-Sundance.
