Former Wyoming high school state champion and Pinedale native Jordan Costello was the winner of the U.S. Amateur Qualifier at the Jacoby Golf Course in Laramie Tuesday.

He finished the tournament with a final round 65 to finish at 8-under par. Costello is currently a junior at the University of Utah and was a 3-time Wyoming state champ in the prep ranks. Costello advances to the 119th U.S. Amateur Championships at the famed Pinehurst courses in North Carolina in August.

In the Laramie qualifier, former Sheridan High Schol star Kirby Coe-Kirkham took 3rd with Kelly Walsh's Taj Sutherland placing 8th. Cheyenne Central alum Jared Edeen, who just won the Wyoming Amateur tournament took 10th along with Hardy Johnson of Thermopolis.
