Riverton had a very gifted player that propelled them all the way to the state tournament and that was senior Naya Shime. The all-state selection is in a group of elite players in the state who signed on with a Division 1 college and Shime has elected to attend the University of Wyoming. She 5-11 and hits the ball a ton. Need we say more. In a match vs. Lander this season, Shime recorded 42 kills. She's not a one-woman team by any means with teammates Hannah Reinig and Alexxis Motisi earning all-conference status. The Wolverines had a tough 3-1 loss to Cheyenne East in the quarterfinal round of the state tournament but stayed alive in the consolation round with a 3-1 victory over Rock Springs. Their season came to an end after another loss to East to finish 26-12. This was a senior-heavy group led by Shime who is a terrific all-around athlete. The program certainly will have a different complexion in 2020.
