Rocky Mountain certainly has the talent and ability to make some noise in the 1A 9-man playoffs as they sit at 6-2 following a 35-0 win over Wind River on Thursday night in Pavillion. Wind River was without 2 starters including running back Jaycee Herbert and that made a big difference for the Cougars.

Mountain View found the end zone in the opening quarter in a Maddox Ames 4 run for a touchdown to make it 6-0 Grizzlies. Later in the 2nd stanza, quarterback Carsyn Weber got in from the 1-yard line to boost the lead to 14-0 with a successful 2-point try. Weber later threw a 17-yard TD pass to Jackson Hanusa and just like that it was 21-0.

Carsyn Weber showed his athleticism with an 81-yard run for a touchdown that all told covered way more than that as he started from the middle of the field, came to the sideline, and then veered to the other side of the field to the end zone. The Griz at the point led by 28.

Weber later in the 2nd half threw a touchdown pass to Collin Haslam that covered 48 yards and that is the way it ended with a 35-0 final.

Rocky Mountain grabbed the 2nd seed from the West in the 1A 9-man ranks and will host Lingle-Fort Laramie on Friday at 6 pm. In a quirk of the schedule, this will be only the 3rd home game of the year for the Grizzlies. Wind River is 6-2 and has dropped their last 2 games in a row. The Cougars are the #3 seed and will travel to Yoder to take on Southeast on Friday night at 5 pm.
