The spring rodeo season stopped in Casper over the weekend with the cowboy and cowgirls gearing up for the state finals next month in Buffalo. On the boy's side in the Casper performances, Tuker Carricato of Saratoga had a 69 in the bareback on Friday for first place and also won Saturday's performance with a 70.  Over in the saddle bronc, Norris Graves from Clearmont had the best effort with a 57 while Roady Marsh from Minatare, Nebraska posted a 59 on Saturday. Hayden Welsh of Gillette won Friday's bullriding with a 71 with Jaspur Brower of Big Piney winning session #2 with a 72.

In the timed events, Jace Mayfield from Midwest posted a 5.48 to win the steer wrestling on Friday with Chance Sorenson of Arvada timing out at 5.56 to win Saturday's perf. Over in the tie-down roping, Cory James Bomhoff of Cheyenne had an 11.15 to take Friday's round with Cade Thar of Rozet taking Saturday's round with a 10.22. In team roping, Friday's winners were Glade Parker of Laramie and Grady Longwell of Evansville in 7.44. Tavy Leno from Sheridan along with Joe Hayden of Gillette posted a time of 7.46 to win the 2nd session.

For the ladies, Ashlyn Goven of Rozet swept the barrel racing with a clocking of 16.325 on Friday and 16.137 on Saturday. In goat tying, it was Tavy Leno of Sheridan with a 6.96 to win on Friday while Kennedy Sheehan of Rozet posted an 8.22 to win on Saturday. Over in the breakaway roping, Wheatland's Sara Montgomery had the best effort on Friday with a 2.92 while Rayne Grant of Wheatland won the Saturday session at 4.03. Grant also won Friday's pole bending competition with a time of 19.809. Ava Reno from Gillette ran 21.324 to win Saturday's session.

This week there is a reined cow horse with a cutting event in Torrington on Saturday and Sunday. The next full rodeo will be in Sheridan on the 28th of May, followed by a two-day event in Buffalo on the 29th and 30th.
