Just a couple of track meets were held over the weekend thanks to the inclement weather but the conditions were favorable in Sheridan on Saturday for the annual Dan Hansen Meet. On the boy's side, Darrius Wiggins of Kelly Walsh continues his impressive season with wins in the 200 and 400-meter dashes. Wiggins just recently broke a long-standing school record in the 200 and won that event in Sheridan with a time of 22.01. In the 400, he cruised to victory with a clocking of 49.5. The boy's 100-meter dash winner was Natrona's Robert Douglas in 10.98.

In the hurdle races for the guys, Kyle Meinecke of Sheridan captured the 110 in 15.86 with Powell's Hyrum Jeide taking the 300 in 43.64. In the distance races, Sheridan's Blaine Johnson ran 2.05.41 to win the 800, his teammate Austin Akers went 4.35.21 to win the 1600 meters with Wyatt Ostler winning the 3200 in 10.18.54. In the relays, Thunder Basin placed first in the 4x100, Sheridan won the 4x400 and Buffalo took the 4x800.

In the boy's field events, Sheridan all-star Ryan Karajanis won the pole vault clearing 14-7 in some breezy conditions. Campell County's Remar Pitter had a nice meet with a gold medal in the long jump at 23-3 and gold in the high jump at 6-. The boy's triple jump winner was Isiah Cox of Natrona with a leap of 41-2.5. In the throwing events, Gage Vielhauer of Sheridan took the shot put with a toss of 50 feet 3 inches, and his teammate Texas Tanner won the discus at 164.2.5. In the boy's team standings, Sheridan took first with 168 points, Natrona 2nd with 104, and Kelly Walsh 3rd with 76.5

On the girl's side in the sprint races, Campbell County speedsters, Nyomi Moore and Sydalee Brown won the 100 and 200 respectively. Moore ran 12.52 in the 100 and Brown clocked in at 25.95 in the 200. Tongue River's Addie Pendergast took the tape in the 400 in 59.39. In the hurdle events, the 100 victor was Charlotte Marasco of Campbell County in 15.42 with Thunder Basin's Gabby Drube taking the 300 with a time of 46.62. In the relay events, Natrona won the 4x100 and the 4x400 with Thunder Basin taking the 4x800. Cody placed first in the 1600 medley.

Over in the girl's distance events, Rylee Brandon from Thunder Basin ran 2.29.66 to win the 800, Sheridan's Katie Turpin placed first in the 1600 meters with a time of 5.31.43 and the 3200 winner was Abby Newton of Sheridan in 11.53. 81.

In the girls, pole vault, all-star Grace Shaffer cleared 12-7 for the win. State records can only be broken at the state meet but the current 4A record is 12 feet even, which shows you how talented Shaffer is. Nyomi Moore of Campbell posted another win in the meet by going 17-11 in the long jump. Preslee Moser cleared 5-2 to win the high jump and the triple jump victor was Addy Bolton of Sheridan at 36 feet and 3 quarters of an inch.

Over in the weight events, those were owned by Lauren Love who threw 138-9 to win the discus and 44-8 to win the shot put. In the girl's team standings, Sheridan placed first with 107.5, Thunder Basin 2nd with 102, and Campbell County 3rd with 85.5
