Watch Campbell County React to Win 2025 Softball State Championship
The Campbell County Camels are back on top of Wyoming High School softball after five straight wins last Friday and Saturday earned them the 2025 state championship trophy. After they won their first-round game, the Camels lost to Cheyenne East. Then, they faced elimination in victories over Laramie, Natrona County, Cheyenne East, and twice against Cheyenne Central in the championship series.
After Campbell County knocked out Cheyenne East last Saturday morning, 10-6, they had to beat Cheyenne Central twice to win the title. That's exactly what the Camels did. They won the first championship game, 29-9, which forced an if necessary, second championship game. Campbell County outlasted the Indians, 17-12.
WyoPreps caught up with seniors Lanae Kimbley and Bayley Gray, plus junior Sadie Cole, sophomore Madison Cone, and head coach Haley Gray after the championship game. They discussed how it felt to win it all, some key times in the title games, and more. Coach Gray even reflected on how it was the same path the Camels took to win their first state championship back in 2021, and how it all came together.
