The first softball rankings in the 2025 season were revealed on Wednesday. The WyoPreps Coaches and Media Softball Poll debuted after the first weekend of the year. The Cheyenne Softball Invitational tournament allowed voters to see teams in action before our first rankings were released. Last year’s runner-up, Cheyenne East, started the season 4-0 and was atop the poll with ten first-place votes. Three-time defending champion Thunder Basin began 4-0, but the Bolts came in second in the rankings. Campbell County sat third ahead of Laramie, even though the Plainsmen beat the Camels head-to-head last weekend. Cheyenne Central rounded out the top five.
