Star Valley once again started their football season with 3 games against Idaho schools and winning 2 of 3. The Braves were handled by Sugar-Salem on the road 34-7 as the Diggers improved to 4-0 on the year. Sugar Salem took the lead in the first quarter on a touchdown by Daniel Neal following an interception to take a 7-0 advantage. Star Valley jumped back in the game thanks to a 25-yard TD connection from Taft McClure to Chase Stewert so we had a new game at 7 all.

After that, Sugar-Salem took over with 2nd quarter touchdowns from Tanner Hawkes on a 14-yard run and 13-yard scoring reception from Kayden Summers. The Diggers added 2 more touchdowns in the 2nd half and their defense closed the door on the Star Valley offense.

There's a long way to go in the season and the Braves will travel to Riverton on Friday for a matinee game at 12:30.
