Sometimes, consolation round games at the state tournament aren't very exciting but the Kaycee/St. Stephens boys game in the 1A ranks certainly was compelling. In the final seconds of regulation with St. Stephens ahead by 3, Kaycee's Jarrett Humble chucked in a half-court shot at the buzzer to even the contest at 58 and send the game into overtime.

In the extra session, Kaycee held on to a 1 point lead in the final seconds with St. Stephens on the free-throw line. The shot was missed and Trenton Friday corralled the rebound and had a chance to win the game but narrowly missed. Once again, it was the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat as Kaycee beats St. Stephens 70-69.
