What more can Sydney Thorvaldson do? The Rawlins junior 3-peated as the 3A state champion in cross country with a convincing win in Afton on Saturday. Thorvaldson, as usual, got off to a fast start and ran away from the field with a winning time of 17.32.7. That's a better time than a year ago which is remarkable considering that she races with no one to pace her. Thorvaldson has races coast to coast with great results and is one of the nation's finest distance runners. She beat Riley Smith of Cody by nearly 2 minutes with Baylee Stafford of Cody 3rd. The efforts of Smith and Stafford allowed Cody to win the 3A team championship with Star Valley 2nd and Buffalo 3rd. Here's some of the action from Afton on Saturday with some cold temperatures and a little bit of snow.
