State Wrestling: 138 LB. Championships
Pinedale's Cody Phelps is an outstanding wrestler, maybe the best in the state. He won his 4th consecutive state title putting him in some rare company. Phelps posted an 18-2 win over Winston Green of Star Valley in the 138 pound final to finish the season a whopping 54-0. The Western Wyoming College commit has not lost a match in the Wyoming High School ranks in two years. Green ended the season with a record of 36-13. Devin Weber of Wheatland placed 3rd at 138 in 3A with Christian Johnson of Douglas 4th.
In 2A, Wyatt McDermott of Thermopolis repeated as state champion with a 14-9 win over Gabe Emery of Kemmerer. McDermott wrestled at 138 last year too and he was very productive in his prep career. He posted a record of 35-5 and Emery who is just a sophomore was 43-8.
In 4A, Thunder Basin's Jais Rose took home the championship with a pin of Dylan Brenton of Natrona. Rose finished 2nd at 132 a year ago and went 37-10 as a sophomore. Brenton wrapped up the year at 27-10. Tyler Dorrell of Cheyenne East was 3rd and Beau Russell of NC was 4th,
