Rawlins super-runner Sydney Thorvaldson added some hardware to her display case with a victory in the High School Cross Country National Invite in Lubbock, Texas over the weekend. Thorvaldson ran a blistering 16.23.85 to beat Brynn Brown from Denton-Guyer in Texas. In the Milesplit national rankings, Thorvaldson is ranked 3rd in the nation, and Brown was ranked 2nd. So far this season, she has won 8 races, including 2 national events, and has run under 17 minutes in 6 of those races. This race in Lubbock featured some of the top cross country runners in the nation.

Thorvaldson has run two races this year in under 16:30 and is the four-time 3A state champion in cross country for the Outlaws. She is also the two-time state champion in the 800, 1600, and 3200 meters in track and field. Thorvaldson has committed to run at the University of Arkansas.
