Cheyenne East track athlete Taliah Morris has some serious talent when it comes to track and field and put those skills on display in last week's meet in Wheatland. Morris won the 100-meter dash in 12.46 and also placed first in the long jump with a leap of 18 feet 9 and a half inches.

At the State Outdoor Championships in May, Morris won the 4A title in the 200 meters in 27.46 and the long jump at 19 feet 1 inch. She placed 2nd in the 100 with a time is 12.83. Those accomplishments were achieved as a freshman so the sky seems to be the limit for her.

Morris works intensely on her technique in the running and jumping events and that will help her in the short term and the long run. We had a chance to chat with Morris about the 100-meter dash and the long jump and her goals for the season. Enjoy!
