The Saratoga Panthers are 2020 Class 1A state champions. The Panthers claimed victory over the Farson-Eden Pronghorns on Saturday night in Casper.

This was Saratoga's first state basketball title in school history.

The game was very close throughout the first half. In the late first quarter, Farson-Eden was winning 8-7 when Gavin Bartlett hit a 3-pointer as time expired. giving the Panther the lead 10-8 going into the 2nd quarter.

The 2nd quarter was not as eventful though there was more scoring. Logan Seahorn and Gavin Bartlett each had nine points in the 1st half for Saratoga. The Panthers shot 46.7% from the field in the 1st half.

The score at halftime was 22-17 favoring Saratoga.

In the 3rd quarter, Saratoga began to pull away. The team began to score more consistently and effectively.

Saratoga shot 36.8% from the field in the 2nd half and was simply just playing better basketball than they were from the start. The Panthers were 15-23 in the 2nd half from the free-throw line.

The Panthers pulled away in the 4th quarter by scoring in consecutive possessions. The Panthers had a 14 point lead at one point late in the 4th quarter.

The final score of the game was 52-42, Saratoga over Farson-Eden.

Gavin Bartlett had 17 points and eight rebounds and Logan Seahorn had 16 points in the win for Saratoga.

Zander Reed was the leading scorer for the Pronghorns with 18 points. The Pronghorns got outrebounded by the Panthers 38-31.
