The 2015 Outdoor Track and Field Season started as Wyoming teams competed at Natrona, West Jordan, Utah, and Greeley, Colorado and Ft. Collins, Colorado.

Glen Legler Memorial at Natrona:

Teams Participating: Natrona, Kelly Walsh, Big Piney, Buffalo, Dubois, Encampment, Glenrock, Lander, Rawlins, Riverton, Rock Springs, Sheridan, Torrington, Wright

Carlos Salcido of Rock Springs won the boys 100 meter dash with a time of 10.66 seconds and also won the the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.86 seconds. Jace Marx of Big Piney also fared well in both races.

Kevin Thompson of Natrona won both boys 800 and 1600 meter runs, while Chase Anderson of Natrona won both the boys 110 and 300 meter hurdle races, and the long jump.

Hannah Carter of Kelly Walsh won both the girls 100 and 200 meter dashes.

Molly Olsen of Natrona won both the girls 800 and 1600 meter runs.

McKenzie Kroupa of Rock Springs won the girls 100 meter hurdles and was on the winning relay teams in the 4x100 and 4x400.

Courtney Logan of Natrona won both the girls discus and shot put.

Team-wise, the Natrona boys and girls both won the 14 team meet. Kelly Walsh boys and girls each were runner-ups.

 

Utah High School Track Coaches Association Meet at West Jordan, UT:

Wyoming teams participating: Evanston, Green River, Kemmerer, Mountain View, Rock Springs, Star Valley,

Tyler Vendetti (20' 8.75") of Green River placed 4th and Robert Webster (20' 2.25") of Kemmerer was 6th in the boys long jump.

Connor Bateman (6'0") and Jordan Banister (5'10") of Kemmerer placed 1st and 2nd in the boys high jump.

Janice Hall (17' 8") of Star Valley and Brinae Sanders (17" 5.75") of Evanston placed 1st and 2nd in the girls long jump. Hall also finished 2nd in the girls 100 meter dash (13.07 seconds).

Lorenzo Merino (10' 11") and Wyatt Loveland (9' 11") of Star Valley placed 1st and 2nd in the boys pole vault.

Star Valley boys won the 4x800 meter relay in 8 minutes 25.26 seconds.

Preston Portillo of Rock Springs placed 1st in the boys 800 meter run (1 minutes 59.76 seconds).

Karli Piaia of Rock Springs placed 1st in the girls 3200 meter run (11:24.89).

 

Greeley, CO Central Invitational:

Wyoming teams participating: Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne South.

D.J. Shamborguer of Central was runner-up in the boys 200 meter dash.

Elliott Miller of Central was 3rd in the boys 800 meter run.

Jeff Salinas of Central won the boys 300 meter hurdles, with a time of 39.82 seconds.

Gabe Beliaj of South won the boys pole vault, with a height of 13' 6".

William Nolan of South won the boys long jump, with a distance of 21' 7". He was also 2nd in the boys triple jump.

Allee Williamson of Central won the girls 100 meter dash, with a time of 12.95 seconds.

Cali Stewart of South was runner-up in the girls 100 meter hurdles and 3rd in the girls 300 meter hurdles, and 2nd in girls high jump.

South's girls 4x400 meter relay team was 2nd.

Sam Erickson of Central was runner-up in the girls pole vault.
