Sheridan junior Addie Pendergast is a highly-accomplished track and field student-athlete. Add the moniker state record holder to that resume.

Pendergast scorched the track at Harry Geldien Stadium in Casper at the Trojan Invite on Thursday afternoon. She set a new all-time state record in the 200 meters at a time of 23.58 seconds. Watch for yourself.

That eclipsed the old mark of 23.79 set by Jerayah Davis from Kelly Walsh in 2013.

Her time was over a second faster than second place, 24.89 seconds.

Pendergast has the fastest time in the state in the 100, 200, and 400 meters so far during the 2023 outdoor track season. She won all three of those events at the D&D Invitational in Worland on April 6. Pendergast has won each race she's competed in during this outdoor season.

Thursday, the junior also added a victory in the 300-meter hurdles at 46.86 seconds.

She has pre-qualified for the state track meet in all four of those events in 2023.

Pendergast transferred from Tongue River High School to Sheridan High School last year but was not eligible to compete at the 2022 Wyoming High School State Track Championships last May. She will be there next month.
