Porter Merritt From Star Valley is in the 100-Win Club

Star Valley’s Porter Merritt passed the 100-win milestone in his prep wrestling career earlier this season. The senior wrestles at 150 pounds for the Braves. He is 39-9 during the 2024 season with 23 pins. Merritt is a three-time state qualifier and two-time state placer. The state wrestling championships for this year are two weeks away.

Merritt was second at the Richardson Memorial in Utah, fourth at the Tiger Grizz Invitational in Idaho, and placed third at the Ron Thon Memorial Wrestling Tournament two weeks ago in Riverton.

Merritt has wrestled at 113, 132, and 152 pounds during his high school career. He finished third at 152 pounds last year in Class 4A. As a sophomore in 2022, Merritt was fifth place at 132 pounds in Class 3A.

Currently, he's approaching 120 wins. Congratulations to Porter!
