The prep cross-country reaches the mid-point of the 2023 season in Wyoming.

Five meets are in the state with Cody, Glenrock, Saratoga, Sundance, and Thermopolis acting as the hosts. A few big meets are in the region at Boise, Littleton, and Rapid City.

Tuesday, Sept. 19

Out-of-State Events:

Dave Scott Invitational XC Meet at Hot Springs, SD – Newcastle.

Aspen Bloom of Newcastle won the girls' race at 21:31.07. Sam Cunningham came in 4th in the boys' division. Newcastle was 2nd in the boys' team standings.

Wednesday, Sept. 20

Out-of-State Events:

North Summit XC Meet in Coalville, UT – Lyman.

Thursday, Sept. 21

Cody Foxes & Hounds XC Meet at the Olive Glenn Golf Course in Cody – Buffalo, Burlington, Cody, Lander, Lovell, Powell, Riverton, Wind River, Worland.

Zena Tapia and Trajn Swalstad of Worland swept the top spot on the podium. The Cody girls and Worland boys grabbed the team titles.

Friday, Sept. 22

Bobcat Invitational at Thermopolis G.C. – St. Stephens, Thermopolis, Wyoming Indian.

Jayda Griffin of Thermopolis won the race 24:16.28. Cole Keller won on his home course at 19:05.15.

Glenrock Invitational at the Glenrock G.C. – Big Horn, Douglas JV, Glenrock, Moorcroft, Tongue River.

Big Horn's Aya Byrd won the girls' race at 23:05.50. Tongue River's Isaiah Cote won the boys' division at 19:37.90.

Shana Ward Memorial at Saratoga Inn G.C. – Cheyenne South, Ft. Washakie, Green River, Kelly Walsh, Laramie JV, Mountain View, Natrona County, Pine Bluffs, Rawlins, Rock River, Rock Springs, Saratoga, Wheatland; Out-of-State teams – Manila (UT).

Ally Wheeler of NC won the girls' race at 19:22.28. The boys' race was captured by Alex Louria of KW at 16:48.26.

Varsity Girls Team Scores = Natrona County 27, Kelly Walsh 31, Rock Springs 78, Mountain View 111, Pine Bluffs 141.

Varsity Boys Team Scores = Kelly Walsh 27, Natrona County 56, Mountain View 65, Rock Springs 95, Rawlins 117, Pine Bluffs 150.

Sundance Cross Country Meet at Sundance C.C. – Hulett, Newcastle, Sundance, Wright; Out-of-State teams – Belle Fourche (SD).

Canceled due to the weather.

Out-of-State Events:

Dave Sanders Invitational in Littleton, CO – Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East.

Cheyenne Central was 7th and Cheyenne East 14th in the girls team standings. The top finisher was Rian Cordell-Reiner of Central in 18th place. The Central boys took 6th and East was 9th. Bridger Brokaw was the highest finisher at 4th place.

Platte Valley XC Invitational in Kersey, CO – Douglas, Torrington.

Torrington's Sully Wilson won the boys' race at 17:49.80.

Rapid City Area School HS Invitational Cross Country Meet in Rapid City, SD – Campbell County, Laramie, Thunder Basin.

The best finish in the girls' division was Lainey Berryhill of Laramie in 5th place. Laramie took 3rd place as a team for the girls. Dominic Eberle took 6th in the boys' race. Laramie was 4th in the team standings.

Saturday, Sept. 23

Out-of-State Events:

Bob Firman Invitational XC Meet in Boise, ID – Jackson, Star Valley.

Madison Antonino of Jackson took sixth in the girls' Elite Division at 18:12.5. Star Valley's Habtamu Wetzel placed 9th at 15:29.7. The Braves took 5th as a team.

Royal Run XC Meet in Roy, UT – Evanston.

Paul Baxter of Evanston finished 5th at 15:48.7. Evanston placed 4th in the boys' division.
