Not only is this the last week before the playoffs, it the last chance for teams to fine tune things ahead of the playoffs and the last chance to teams to try to impress the voters in the coaches/media rankings.

There's not much change in the latest 4A rankings. #1 Gillette only needs to win to secure the #1 seed, while #2 Sheridan need a win, and hopes the Camels get tripped up by Cheyenne East. #3 Rock Springs is locked into their post-season spot, and face an interesting dilemma. It's been quite some time since they've won vs. #5 Natrona, but is beating the Mustangs worth a possible big time injury, just before the playoffs? #4 Laramie can't afford that luxury at Kelly Walsh, considering a better playoff spot could be their reward.

Like 4A, there's very little change in the latest 3A rankings, and there are no games featuring ranked team vs. ranked team. The only change in the rankings is that Torrington moved ahead of Powell for #4 by 1 vote, thus the Panthers drop to #5. That leaves Star Valley, Douglas and Green River at #1, #2 and #3. Depending on results, the teams in the west may have to flip a coin for seeding.

There is a one big game in the final week of 2A, because a first round home game is on the line. #2 Big Horn visits #5 Wheatland this week. The Rams won this game last year at Wheatland, spoiling the Bulldogs' undefeated bid. Payback is probably another motivating factor in this game. Meanwhile, #1 Glenrock, #3 Mountain View and #4 Greybull already have their playoff spots secured.

1A will be getting some attention this week, because the top seed in both the East and West are still up for grabs. The big rematch is the main event, as #2 Tongue River visits #1 Upton-Sundance. This was last year's state championship game. All #3 Pine Bluffs can do this week is prepare for the playoffs, and wait to see where they are traveling to. As for the west, #4 Shoshoni has a tough task at Cokeville, but if the Wranglers can pull it off, a home game is their reward. #5 Rocky Mountain needs Cokeville to win, just to force a coin flip for the #1 seed in the west.

Most of the attention in 6-Man this week has to wait until Saturday. New #1 Farson-Eden hosts #3 Little Snake River, in a game where the winner is the top seed in the west. #4 Burlington and #5 Meeteetse also have chances to get a playoff spot, depending on what happened. Elsewhere, #2 Kaycee is just waiting to see which of those 4 west teams they will host in the first round.
