WY High School Girls Basketball 4A/3A Regional Tournament Results

While the state tournament is going on for 2A and 1A teams, the 4A and 3A teams are trying to put their state tournament brackets together.

4A East at Cheyenne East:

Checking head-to-head vs. highest team in the Southeast quadrant (or next highest), Thunder Basin gets #1 seed over Campbell County, because they Lady Bolts beat Cheyenne Central, whereas the Lady Camels did not.

Trying to determine how the tie was broken between Sheridan and Natrona for #3 NE seed.

3A East at Wheatland:

Newcastle gets #3 NE seed over Thermopolis, because the Lady Dogies have wins vs. southeast quadrant teams, whereas the Lady Bobcats don't. In fact, Thermopolis didn't play any team from the southeast during the regular season.

Wheatland gets #2 SE seed over Torrington, because the Lady Bulldogs have a better record vs. Northeast teams compared to the Lady Trailblazers (1-3 vs. 1-4). The non-quadrant game that Wheatland and Torrington played vs. each other back in December at Douglas, is not used in tie-breakers.

Buffalo 67 Newcastle 16 Newcastle Eliminated. Buffalo qualifies for the state tournament.

3A West at Worland:

Powell lost 3-way coin flip vs. Lander and Worland and dropped to #3 NW seed.

Lander gets #1 NW seed over Worland, due to common opponents. The Lady Tigers beat Pinedale, whereas the Lady Warriors did not.

Although Mountain View and Lyman split their head-to-head quadrant games, MV beat Lyman in the Bridger Valley Tournament in December, thus the Lady Buffalos won the head-to-head series 2-1, and get the #1 SW seed.
